Measurement

Today we spend the afternoon trying to understand that there are 10 mm in 1 cm. I finally got out chalk, yes you heard me right chalk, and drew on the carpet a number line. Do your students get super engaged the minute they think your doing something that will get them in trouble? Mine loved being the "line walker" as one of them called it. The real question is will they remember tomorrow?
